Service Description

Nomadic traditions unfold around wells, these benevolent oases in the heart of the burning sand. Every day, these watering holes become the setting for convivial moments, where caravans gather to share much more than just provisions. It's here that bonds are forged, stories are passed down, marking each encounter with a deep respect for the land and its gifts. Tea, a symbol of hospitality and generosity, is prepared and shared with particular care, each sip representing an act of communion with the desert and its mysteries. This long trek takes you to listen to nomadic traditions in the Chegaga oasis. ⁎ On the first day, you will spend the night at the permanent bivouac after a day of transfer between your arrival point and this comfortable bivouac. ⁎ Day 2, departure after breakfast served by the local nomads, first bivouac Sidi Naji, this sacred place with its famous mausoleum and its marabout of the same name. We settle next to this place for the night. ⁎ Day 3, we set off for Erg Smar where you can refresh yourself at the well. The water is heated by solar panels. You might be lucky enough to meet shepherds with their herds of camels. This Erg is located near a village swallowed by the sand and abandoned. Formerly, it was a meeting place for dromedary traders. ⁎ Day 4, we will head to Erg Chegaga, where you will spend a friendly moment with the nomads and they will share their traditions with you over a meal and a glass of tea. This dune is the highest dune in the Sahara Desert. On the 5th day, the desert caravan takes you straight to Ouad Laatache, a valley of vegetation and trees for shade. You might see herds of gazelles. You can also refresh yourself at the Ouad Laatache well. You'll spend the night under the stars at the foot of this very high dune. On the 6th day, we'll hike to Kriat Jamal, where the vegetation is unique. We'll meet the nomads and share their lives and traditions with them, enjoying a moment of exchange over a glass of tea and a local meal. On the 7th day, we'll head to the final stage, spending the last night at the foot of Erg Nbak El Aoud, where the landscape is made up of dunes. Tamarisk trees will be a welcome place to nest for the night. On the 8th day, we'll return to the permanent bivouac.
